Lets go Cappadocia

Day 4: On the morning of 10th January 2015 after enjoying our last breakfast in Nidya Hotel Galataport of Istanbul for this trip, we headed for the Ataturk Airport. It took us close to one hour to arrive at Nevsehir airport, one of the closest airports to Goreme city in Cappadocia.

Our bus driver was very humble and friendly and we were the last of passengers he dropped off right at the doorstep of Cappadocia Cave suites hotel. On the way to the cave, he stopped off at the Goreme Panorama View for us to capture a few clicks.

We were warmly welcomed at the suite and guided to our underground cave room which was as modern and equipped as a modern day hotel suite. The hotel staff recommended us a restaurant down the hill, Alaturka which serves one of the finest cuisine in the city. On our way back we also made a snow man with the help of our neighbors at the suite.

Day 5: We had breakfast at the cave lounge and headed for a walk towards Goreme Open Air  Museum, some 600m away from our hotel. The open air museum is built on mountains with churches and monasteries carved in. Before exiting the place we went to a nearby coffee shop where we dressed as the Sultan and Begum from the Ottoman era.

Later in the afternoon, we got lucky enough to experience something more different! It was the HOT AIR BALLOON ride!! We were fortunate enough that the weather favored the ride and we were able to make for it. Viewing the entire city covered in white was an exceptional picking from this journey for a lifetime.

Day 6: We booked the 'Green Tour' with our guide - GULSHAN (a sweet little lady very famous in Goreme for her knowledge and Iranian looks).

During the Green tour to north Cappadocia we visited Derinkuyu underground city, Belisirma Village, Selime Monastery, Uchisar Pigeon Valley, Ihlara Valley and Goreme Panorama.

The tour takes around 8 hours. In some parts you may need to walk into beautiful valleys of Cappadocia, we suggest you wear shoes with spikes.
